The river of walkers increases
The office of the Camino de Santiago pilgrim has made available the data of
2012, indicating a 5% increase in the flow of pilgrims who reached the tomb of St. James. While the Spanish
route seems to have reached the stage of maturity (for the first time since the 80s, growth is not two
digits), the Via Francigena grows exponentially although for now the numbers are not comparable to those of
the Camino de Santiago.
